At Triad Psych, P.C. we believe in the true value that group therapy can award our clients. We offer four separate groups that are based on age. You or your child will be placed in a group with others who fit the category of either an adult, high school teen, middle school adolescent, or elementary school child. These groups are open to any individual struggling with neurological or social issues as we do not believe in separating our clients based on specific disability classification. Below is a short description of each of our group options.
This group discusses aspects of adult life which may include the transition from high school to adulthood, finding and maintaining employment, and healthy relationships.
High School Group
This group focuses on addressing specific issues that high school students encounter. Some examples of topics discussed might include peer pressure, bullying, social media, coping with academic pressure, and the upcoming transition from high school into college or the workforce. This group gives students the tools needed to confront these challenges.
Middle School Group
The transition from elementary to middle school often proves to be quite a challenge. This group eases this transition through skill-building exercises, the teaching of organizational skills, peer support, and mutual respect and care for one another.
Elementary School Group
Focusing on our youngest clients, this group therapy emphasizes and distinguishes the essential social skills needed for both home and school life. This group is also valuable in that it strives to ease the burden on newly diagnosed children and their families.
