Dave Glick has been providing high impact and effective coaching services to high functioning neurodiverse individuals since 1993. Starting his career as a graduate intern at Boston University his approaches and strategies have been honed over a 30 year arch. Dave is trained as both a special educator and a clinical social worker and has been independently licensed since 1999. He also has additional certifications as a an Employee Assistance Professional and as an Autism Clinical Specialist. Making the invisible visible and imposing structure on tasks and concepts which are abstract are core competencies of Dave’s approach; as well as a strong emphasis on character development and emotional intelligence skills are all core components of this service.
The difference between neurodiversity coaching and other coaching processes is that Dave is trained and experienced in working with people with all forms of neurodiversity, from ASD to ADD to LD and beyond. The neurodiversity coach is capable of helping people develop strategies which maximize the talents of the neurodiverse brain and compensate for the individual difficulties the neurodiverse client experiences. This type of coaching helps individuals develop the structures, processes, and practical approaches necessary to meet the challenges of everyday life and excel in their areas of special talents.
The process begins with identifying specific goals mutually formed between the coach and client. At the same time exercises and processes are put in place to develop a strong sense of trust and confidence between the coach and client. Once that confidence level is achieved, the goals are aggressively targeted and worked on. The goals are not limited to just occupational targets but overall life coaching as well, personal, professional or both all can addressed through this process.
