Founded in 2003, so just about 22 years. Triad was formed as general clinical practice with a few specific specialty areas. The original specialty areas were neurodivergence in all its forms—Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD—and police and public safety psychology. Also, Trad was the first neurodiverse specialized clinic in metro Atlanta to be able to take insurance for its services, making it affordable for many families. Since then, Triad has branched out into many other areas.
Triad’s three-pronged clinical approach is a combination of Behaviorism, Psychotherapy and Special Education principles, thus the Triad. This approach honed by our founder produces concrete and tangible results for our clients. We pride ourselves on our effectiveness and our ability to bring order to situations which are unmanageable for both our clients and the organizations we provide services to. All our staff regardless of their specialties are trained in the Triad approach so we can provide a uniform experience and maintain quality throughout all four of our locations. So, despite our staff being very diverse in what and how they practice, all the clinicians have this core competency.
Yes, we work almost all major carriers with a few exceptions. Our founder immediately before opening the clinic was a Senior Clinical Care manager at a large insurance company where he managed several mental health benefits and other services for BellSouth corporation. He then used the knowledge gained there to set Triad up to partner and participate with insurance companies.
Our main office is in Marietta with other offices in Acworth, Atlanta and Carrollton. Yet, due to technology we have clients worldwide. Because Triad has a history of working with very intense and high complexity cases, it is common for our clinicians to team up on cases which require that more intense service.
Triad embraces an advanced practice framework in treating all forms of Neurodiversity. All staff are trained in the Triad clinical approach which incorporates Special Education, Behavior Analysis, and Psychotherapy principles into one, but then separate specializations are also used. All Triad clinicians have terminal master’s degrees or above in the mental health disciplines. What this means is that our clinicians are not tied to any one specific approach and adapt treatment to specifically what the client needs. We are a diverse group of practitioners.
No. Most of our neurodiverse clients are high functioning, known as Level 1, meaning they only require a minimum to moderate level of support, but we work with all severity levels from the ages of five and above. Most of the work we do is in the clinic, but we can travel to client’s homes, schools and other facilities if the case requires. We do not provide home-based ABA services.
That is exactly why Triad was formed to serve this population. Autism and Neurodiversity rarely exist in isolation. Our practice fills this void and effectively works with these dual diagnosis cases. Most all our clinicians are trained in different schools of psychotherapy, but all our clinicians are trained in the Triad approach so we can customize a treatment plan for different clients. We do not and will never take a cookie cutter approach to neurodiversity as many other clinics do. That is what sets us apart.
