I obtained my PhD from Liberty University and have been a counselor since 2003, working first for the state of Georgia with juveniles and troubled teens. I have been in private practice since 2009. I work well with students and young adults who have a variety of mood, social, and/or neurological issues. I have considerable experience with autism (ASD). My approach to counseling is primarily Cognitive with behavioral interventions. I incorporate physical activity with behavioral interventions and encourage regular exercise to support psychological improvement.
I specialize in autism spectrum disorder. I utilize a family approach and I see patients with problems such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, and other developmental disorders. I offer a limited range of assessments to establish or confirm a diagnosis.
In addition to my Cognitive and Behavioral techniques, I utilize a wide variety of Christian Counseling methods and approaches for clients who request this type of service. My work with young children with developmental disabilities may include Lego or other building materials to build rapport and foster a sense of shared responsibility in counseling.
